Hi, I am doing some research into the 231st brigade in the war and in particular D Day. I am not entirely clued up on the war and nowhere near as knowledgeable as some of you guys. I am completely new to this forum and don't know much about it so any info is great. I will post in the relevant forums to ask for info. I look forward to finding out about this stuff.

    Thanks
    Ben

    Greetings, Ben.

The 231st infantry Brigade were part of the 50th (Northumbrian) Division from around the end of the fighting in Sicily (August 1943) for the duration. The 50 Div is my ‘hobby’, so if I can help you with your questions I will.

I recommend that you read Stolpi’s link at message No.4 above - it’s great.

    Best,

    Steve.

Do not take him too literally. He is a bit biased ... since he himself wrote part of that thread. ;)
