HMS Itchen, K227.

  1. Hi all,

I’m wondering if anyone can help me.

My great uncle served on board HMS Itchen. Itchen was torpedoed and sunk by U-666 in the North Atlantic on the 23rd September 1943, there were only three survivors of the 233 crew and sadly, my great uncle wasn’t one on those three. He was Walter John Dunster, a leading cook.

What I would like to find is, is there a photo somewhere of the actual ship itself? Google hasn’t been all that useful, and I would be interested to locate a photo of his ship, if possible, for the family album.
    Many thanks indeed,

    Best regards,

    Simon
