The story I have been given is that the Hospital Ship 'Devonshire' was torpedoed by a Japanese submarine whilst on her way to Bombay. The torpedoes missed and the submarine was sunk by depth charges. This happened on Christmas Day 1943.

Would very much like to have confirmation of this incident and any further information if it is available.
