Another one from this months Classic Military Vehicle Magazine:
To mark the opening of the new £4M+ Household cavalry museum there's going to be a parade through London for her Maj. attempting to represent half-sections of all vehicle types used over the units history, WW1 MG carriers being sourced (I know of at least one runner, be nice to see a second), Staghounds, dingos, Daimler, halftracks, AEC, Ferret, Saladin, Saracen and all the modern gear (they're having trouble finding Marmon Herringtons though). Army recruits from Pirbright will be dressed up as period civvies to represent the liberation of Brussels for one part of the event... ("By the right! Welcoooome. Liberatahz!" "Wave Flags! One Two One Two!.. Halt!")

Event on 12th June - Tickets at £20+ (presumably for seated good view of the pageant itself, prices run up to £125!... that must get you as good a view as the Queen).

Route from Wellington Barracks, Birdcage walk, Horseguards Road and the Mall then back to the Barracks. roads will be closed on the night before (monday) for a rehearsal so that might be the best time for a free peek if you're local.

    Website: Household Cavalry Pageant.

"More than 200 horses... and a camel!"
A representation of a Waterloo Cavalry charge is also planned... which should be a real highlight.

These chaps must be some of the best in the world at ceremonials so I can only presume this will be a superb event. Just a block of their cavalry sends shivers up my spine and combining them with vehicles should be quite the spectacle.
    Cheers,
    Adam.
