Don't get me started South, last week my security department changed the exit barrier code for the car park to 1066. All my staff are in their early twenties, they all asked for the new code and in turn I told them 'Battle of Hastings'. They would still be there tonight if I hadn't explained.

To top it all in the tea room on Friday afternoon out new electrician, a very talented young lady heard me talking about Julius Caesar. She said she had been to his nightclub on a couple of occasions but thought it was dull!!!

Did the national curriculum 'remembrance' topic kick in in 2000? Think it's something like that.
Think Sprog A was about 8 when he did it first, and the whole school sees what the class doing the subject produces, and gets an assembly.

Just idly wondering how long it might take for curriculum shifts to affect any sort of polling, if they do. Possible that if this is 'a problem' (which I don't really think it is), then an attempt at a 'a solution' may still be shaking out through the demographics.

Last year we bid on a project for a customer in Manhattan. It informally became know as 'The Manhattan Project'.

I lamely tried to make a few WWII Manhattan Project references during meetings. Not a tiny glimmer of recognition from anyone about the significance of the name.

So if armistice isn't enough to end a war: When did the Second World War find its end?

    Very good answer, Rich.

I like this way of fighting WW II.

And didn't want to start endless debates anyway ...

As if this forum is doing much better. In forums you have to be good with search facilities to circumvent the 90% crap that is on it.

I do think the moderation on GWF is better though.

    Regards,

    Marco

Marco, if you prefer GWF feel free to go post about WW2 there in Skindles because to be quite frank your contributon here of late has been of little interest to anyone outside whatever makes your personal vendettas tick over.

I don't read the GWF but the moderators on ww2talk are absolutely fantastic. They do a great job.

I do find your comment unfounded and unjust re moderation on WW2Talk.

As you are aware it takes time effort and knowledge to administer a forum and the people on here fit the bill splendidly.Bar the barracks ( which shows we are not all WW2 centric all the time and do have another side to us) all other sections are relevant current and on topic.

    regards

Oh dear the thread seems to have veered off topic, how very lax of us to allow that.

Not a good start to my day - typed in GWF and got a site describing our greatest naval hero as 'Half Nelson' now that is bad form.
