    Hello

I hope it is all right of me to post this and ask this favour here. I do not have any specific questions to ask about individual people at this time, just asking if anyone knows of, stumbles across in their research, or could be related to my family.

I am living in the U.S., I am third generation to be born this side of the Atlantic. My Dad's family is from North Somerset, Bristol area and the Mendips and Chew Valley area. My family name is LODGE, if anyone runs across that name in their research, please let me know.

I have run across the Lodge name a couple times so far, with a few of them being very high probable relation. I will post later about them with the very little information I have. Until then, I thought I'd post this. Sorry for posting such an "open ended" question, but had to ask anyway.
    Thank you
    Mark Lodge

A good freind of mine has the last name LODGE and he lives in Salisbury (same as me) which is not that far from the Medips, Bristol etc. I will ask him when i next see him which will probably be tommorow and get some details for you.

    Hello once more

I have just seen a topic thread titled "Sapper, is this your lot", and on post number four there is a photo of a LCpl Lodge of the 278th Field Company of the Royal Engineers. Looking at his face there seems to be some resemblance to me.

Also in a book I have titled "Pegasus Bridge/Merville Battery" written by Carl Shilleto there is a photo of the NCOs of 9 Para on page 84 and 85. In the photo there is a Sgt. F. Lodge listed, who also looks strikingly familiar.

If anyone knows where I could find more about these men, please let me know. I understand finding information might be a long shot, but I have to ask anyway.
    Thank you once more
    Mark
