    Hi,

Can anyone point me in the direction of where i can read the citations for mentions in dispatches?

Also can anyone explain why in the box for gallantry etc ,one of the awards was an award for an action that stretched over 5 months. Is that normal for any kind of award?

    thanks in advance,

    Will

Most MiD`s haven't got citations .Sorry. Is your user name (number) a service number?

Royal Artillery Jeffrey Herbert PARRETT (281664). London Gazette 20th July 1943 Announced 17th June 1943 perhaps or just a coincidence?

    Hi Kyle,

Not a service number , royal Marines birthday (28/10/1664).

Is there anywhere (national archives etc) where there may be records of the MID? Or were service records and the gazette the only place?

Also the gentleman in question is Sgt 7248628 Alan S Harrison.

    Cheers,

    Will

His name doesn't seem to appear on their search tool via their website. I've ordered the unit diary's so maybe there will be reference there.

    Thanks for the heads up.

I think someone on here does look ups from a book(HONOUR THOSE MENTIONED? ) that was published perhaps they would be good enough to check there for you?

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately there's no reference to the man im researching. With all the mentions in dispatches given out during the war, I'm sure got lost in all the noise.
