Does anyone know if the national ex-prisoner of War association is still active? Their website is no longer on the go and their Facebook page hasn't been update in over a year. I tried messaging their page a few weeks ago but haven't heard a dicky-bird back.

I realise the pool of veterans grows fewer every year but I would've thought that there would still be a desire for th association to continue as a conduit for relatives of former POWs to learn more about their experiences and where to research etc.

I had a contact a few years back who was connected to the website. I'll try and catch up with them and see how the land lies. I'll get back if I learn anything.

Much appreciated. I imagine the website lapsed as Facebook was probably a lot cheaper than paying for a domain name but would hope that they are just taking a break for the moment.

I contacted them when they were in the process of going over to Facebook - they were supposed to get back to me with an address but I've heard nothing more.

I'm afraid it is bad news on the NEXPOWA front. The website closed officially a couple of years ago and the Facebook page is due to be removed, with the association being wound up perhaps as early as this year. Sorry to be the bearer of such news.

Not good news. I was hoping the relatives of ex-POWs would keep it active based on the number of requests for info we get here and on the various Facebook pages for POW camps.

Thanks for looking into it for me.
