In recent years, I applied for my father's WW2 Service Record from Glasgow, so I am familiar with the layout and information entered on the records from that era.

Recently, I applied for the Service Records for a deceased friend who died in 1990, he originally joined Reme in the 1955 era.
His length of service in the army is not known, but was certaily 9 years, possibly even longer?

My question is. Will the format, layout details recorded and style of the Service Record for post war Service entries have changed much in comparison to those I am familiar with from WW2.

    Thanks
    Alan

No, it's pretty much the same bundle.

If anything, I got more detail for my grandfather's post-war service than for my other grandfather's wartime service (although there was also a fair bit of duplication).

Has Glasgow Office for Service Records closed down 100% due to Covid? Normally, they cash the cheque pretty quick even when they are taking months to process.

It's been 2 months now and the cheque has not gone thru the system yet!

Please don't suggest phoning them! They are NOT even taking phone calls.

    Thanks Alan
