Timmy, welcome to the forum. From a very quick google search it would appear Stalag XIIIc was liberated (as opposed to evacuated) and some POWs from other camps arrived there after long marches so it seems possible your Grandfather could have been there until liberation. Impossible to say for sure though without further research. TNA or Red Cross records would be the best lines of further research. TNA will hold a file on the camp itself and your Grandfather may have completed a Prisoner's report anthough not everyone did.
    Good luck!

    Mike

Can't help with the PoW side of things but drop me a PM if you're interested in a copy of his units war diary.

    Cheers

Today I received a "list of places of detention" list from the Red Cross in Geneva. It shows that he was transfered to Stalag XIIIC on 2/3/1945. I know he was used as slave labor in the col mines of Upper Soclieca in Poland . He was on the "death march" from Poland.

There is a link on the Red Cross web site. It took about 13 months to get results.
