    British paratrooper captured Tunisia

    "Fallschirmjagers in Depienne Tunisia arguing with an Italian paratrooper.
    This famous incident happened in November of 1942, when injured British Paratroopers were saved from an Italian firing squad by a detachment from I Battalion 5 fallschirmjager Regt by Major Walter Koch. The same Koch who led his battalion to victory in Belgium in 1940."

    Couple more photographs of the liberation of POWs from Rangoon Jail in late April, early May 1945. Firstly, another image from the Pegu Road and then two prisoners receiving their first decent meal back at the jail itself:
