Hello I’m new to forum my father John Jones from Anglesey was in the RAF and was a rear gunner ( sergeant) I believe flying in Lancaster bombers and I have found out he was based in Dunbartonshire and in the Middle East still trying to find out more as he never really spoke about his time serving any help I would be truly grateful.
Jean, Welcome aboard, normally help will appear. Do you have any other information? Especially his full name, DoB and Service Number. Plus, which RAF squadron he was with. You would be best advised to change the title to his full name, DoB etc. As an Other Rank it is unusual to find information online, probably not helped by his surname. We always recommend applying for his Service Record, which may be with the RAF or the National Archives. Yes, it can take a long time to get a reply. So research tips via PM next.
