    Wondering if anyone can decipher service records for my Uncle Gunner E Allan 987278 Please see attached files . If anyone can help it would be very much appreciated .     Welcome Billy,

    He certainly spent some time in Burma, as after the end of the war he embarked at Rangoon port to return to the UK on 'Python' (the repatriation scheme triggered when a man reached a certain length of service). It's written on his tracer card, and also stamped on his B103:

    4/10/45 Embarked Rangoon for UK SOS [Struck Off Strength] ALFSEA [Allied Land Forces South East Asia]

    Quite often in service records time in Burma isn't explicitly mentioned on the Military History sheet, just falling under a non-specific 'India' entry.

    Forum member TG (https://ww2talk.com/index.php?members/topofthestack.67047/) has done a lot of research on 115th Field Regt RA and has written a history, so may be worth getting in touch.
