In my mother's diary she writes............... "Monday November 15th 1943 - Stan Packard has been repatriated." As my mother was from Grantham I would suggest Stan Packard was too. Has anyone any information about this individual? With thanks, David.
David, How are you doing? I would suggest that this is a POW repatriated with a grave injury. You do not have POW Questionaires for these guys, they fall under the radar. Chorleys? If an airman, which is likely in your case or he could be local. Regards, Nick
I believe he was F/Sgt S.E. Packard of 50 Squadron but would like confirmation. "Footprints" list him with no camp. And I am doing OK thanks.

This thread http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/war-air/45372-77215-f-o-john-whitton-raf-pow.html covers the subject of repatriated personnel, albeit in 1944/45 Aussie newspapers of the day mention the large releases of Allied POW personnel (normally with long-term injuries) via Barcelona to Egypt in November 1943
