    Taken 2 January 1942 San Diego, showing 10+ LB.30 Liberators which had been taken over by the USAAC after Pearl Harbour and returned to Consolidated Aircraft for installation of the Martin mid-upper turret etc.

    From what I can now see he could have been RAF, not a civilian

    With regards to Sikorski's B-24 AL523 of 511 Sqn , what was its paint scheme ? From the crash photo it looks very pale on the underside. Other of 511's aircraft I've seen had two tone top surface with dark grey or black under side. Also was it armed ?
