    Hello all,
Akin to my other post, I also received the service records for Lt Col Gilkes recently. He was my grandfather's commanding officer during his time in the 54th Heavy Regiment (1942-45), although Gilkes was CO of the regiment from March 1941 to December 1944.
Attached are his service records; once again I am asking for someone's help to transcribe either the whole document or just the 'important' pieces of information.
This will help me gain the background for Gilkes, a very important part of this regiments history.

Please reply or direct message me with any questions.

    Many thanks,
    Tom.

Excellent work thank you. I already have the record from the TNA and one of the above from the Gazette but it is good to see that there is more on him!

    Hi Tom,

Just in case you didn't have his medal cards. Doesn't look like the original application, a supplementary application for the 1st Army clasp.
