Hello Michael and welcome. I see you have posted queries on your profile page which members don't really see. I'm pleased you've started a new thread with your query.

The best advice we offer new members is to apply for their relative's army records from the MOD. They cost £30 and should be with you in approx. 2 to 3 weeks.
Get a copy of military service records - GOV.UK

If you don't know your father's army number, just put his FULL date of birth on the form, they can usually find them from that-they did with my father's records.

Once you receive them, come back to us with any queries and I am sure we can help you again. If your father was in 64th Anti-tank regiment he would be part of the 78th Division, known as the Battleaxe Division. My father was in the 78th too. They served in North Africa, Sicily and Italy.
