I'm trying find out when a relative enlisted. Pte. James McIntosh 2755342 5th Bn. Black Watch was born on 22 April 1919 in Shetland but lived in Montrose from 1921. He was aged 20 years, 4 months when the war broke out on 3 September 1939. I know he served in 5th Bn. Black Watch from local newspaper reports and two casualty reports: first in 1943 North Africa during the drive to Tunis and second in Normandy in 1944.

No, I haven't got them yet. This gentlemen died in 2013 aged 94. I didn't think I would get anywhere with the 115 year rule as I'm not a close relative. He was my father's 1st cousin.
