BYKIVNIA GRAVES: THE FOURTH KATYN OUTSIDE KYIV

As a Ukrainian, I am proud to share this new WW2-related material. Many history enthusiasts know about Katyn, but only a few know about other killing sites used to eliminate Polish POWs in the Spring of 1940 by the murderous Soviet Regime. In this detailed 15,000-word article I tell the story of Stalin’s suppression of Ukraine, the infamous Great Terror in 1937-1938, the Bykivnia graves outside Kyiv, a place of last rest of up to 30,000 people killed known as the ‘Fourth Katyn’, treatment of Polish prisoners of war and their annihilation. Based on contemporary Ukrainian historical research, dozens of books, excavations reports, and 100+ photos, archival, and my from a 2022 trip.

If this material appears to be interesting and useful to you, please leave comments, ask questions, and suggest corrections. Your feedback actually makes sense.
