    Very.......errrrrmmm...nice.
Doesn't mention when things screw up though, just entering my very first Ebay fraudish dispute after years of using it, there's always one that buggers up a great system. Bas***ds.

So what's the most shameful piece of crap that people have bought on Evilbay?

Mine might be an inch square piece of the Uboat on display at Birkenhead..basically a piece of rusty metal in a ziploc bag.... What can I say? It's a present for someone. (sadly they'll probably love ito_O )

Better version than the original Backstreet Boys...Not that it was hard.
Worst thing I've ever bought? A bag full of junk, and i mean junk, just to get at an original WW2 field bandage never opened and an RAF badge. God was i stung on that one. And if i ever find out who sniped me for the set of flying goggles from the two wars, i swear to god i shall break their kneecaps.

I bought a domain name last week from ebay and I knew that I was the only bidder, the seller clearly had another account and was using it to bid up his own items. I then proceeded to outsmart his greed by bidding the domain to $890.00 before withdrawing, and of course he bid to $900.00.

Intelligence was not his strong point, after the auciton ended he sent me a 2nd chance offer claiming to have another domain exactly the same for sale and I could have that one.

I of course went back to him and asked how he could have the exact same domain but never got a repsonse.

Unfortuantely Ebay is fast becoming a place for con artists and people that think they can outsmart you. A lot of people fall into the trap.

    Such a shame though.
Even though it's ruined carboots Ebay was An elegant idea that functions on trust, strange items that would have taken years to find otherwise, a godsend for the collector ... It was bound to attract the Jackals.
(and I've played the 'bidding themselves up' game too. Satisfying isn't it!)

I used to work in the antique trade for a little while as an SA. And believe me, about half of the dealers have criminal records for fraud, and the other half have yet to be caught. 'tis a rare thing to find a dealer who is honest. And Ebay has attracted them like flies.
Mind you, there is the wonderful moments, such as last week when an Ozzy put New Zealand up for auction. It reached $1125 before Ebay pulled it. Tight sods.

I've only just heard that the 'Historic warships' project at Birkenhead has closed down, something to do with having to move for a flats conversion.
So an extremely rare U-534 and DDay LCT, along with the other ships are now homeless.
As a friend said, "anyone got a decent-sized back garden??"
