more died afterwards in this way than during the war Dave, I've heard that stated for many years now. Is that a fact that can be backed up or an urban myth? Who has been keeping records? Very sad fact if true. Makes me wonder what suicide rates are like in Veterans from any war. EDIT Ok more about actuals numbers here. Ecclesfield School in Sheffield, where I did teaching practice in 1989, has a memorial plaque in its foyer to a former pupil killed in the Falklands. To my shame I can't recall the name of the serviceman, but he was Royal Navy, HMS 'Coventry' as I recall.
Some links I found interesting and worth reading. Some anecdotes: Stories from the Falklands War and service life And poems by the same author Falklands War Poetry I miss
