Curiously Michael Smith in his book 'The Emperor's Codes: The Breaking of Japan's Secret Ciphers' refers to two RAF units, 357 WU and 370 WU, were attached to Royal Navy codebreaking centre in Ceylon, HMS Anderson, although the two RAF units were known as RAF Anderson. See pg. 233. Via Google Books. In May 2021 this website appeared, it does refer to HMS Anderson - although it is based on another's work cited in Post 10: RAF STATIONS IN SRI LANKA DURING WORLD WAR II & AFTER
My father Mark C Wilkerson was stationed at HMS Anderson, at least 44-46. Not sure about 43. He was US Navy, but somehow got "attached" to RN. He said he was to have parachuted into Burma with a small team ( Maybe they called these "M" teams) to rebroadcast Japanese intercepts back to Ceylon. He said, he was fortunate that his team's equipment never arrived. But yet he was there several years. He was the music director of the post dance band in his spare time. He said he had to remain after the war due to fears of a Russian invasion of India. But a year later was able to return home. My middle name is Chandra, named after a friend he had while there. I've seen a few images on the web of HMS Anderson, I'll post them if I can find them again.
