Hello everyone. I'm a new member to the forum, and I'd like to find any information regarding Sgt Jack(John) WARD, who originated from Moss side, Manchester, or Oldham, Gtr. Manchester. He worked at FAIREY AVIATION before joining the RAF. He told me that he was stationed at the following RAF stations, (which order/dates unknown):RAF Bridgend(St. Athan), RAF Kings Cliffe, (where he became friendly with a USAAF Master Sgt, and whilst out drinking with him in Peterborough, met the actor Clark Gable, who was attached to the USAAF),and RAF Woodbridge in Suffolk. I understand he was at Kings Cliffe then went to Ayrshire for overseas training, before returning to Kings Cliffe, which had by then been allocated to the USAAF flying P38 Lightnings. He then went overseas to Burma (or Malaya), as part of South East Asia Command (SEAC).He returned to the UK and was de-mobbed in 1946. Any information will be gratefully received, Many thanks, SoldieringOn
