This weekend was the International Model weekend at the Luftwaffen Museum at Gatow, Berlin.

It was also a great day out for the children with lots of things for them to play with.

All the emergency services were in attendance with the German Technical Help Workers, who attend disaster areas to help the population, by rescue and using specialist equipment.

The main events were the large scale model planes including several WW2 types.

It was a little windy but the formation flying looked impressive considering the conditions.

Unfortunately, with manning our RBL information stall I only got to see fleeting glances when I managed to escape from Hanger 3.
Still, we raised a nice sum for the Poppy Appeal.

Two light planes flew in and a large Luftwaffe Helicopter, plus two smaller ones also attended and so it was not all models.

Some photographs to look at including R/C 1/16 scale tanks.

    Regards
    Tom

The whitworth meteor was a surprise as it was never on display before and it is not often that planes retain their engines, which is why I took the photograph showing one of the motors.

In fact Hanger 5, used for the model exhibition, has not been open to the public and had been hiding the Meteor, DDR Trainer and several fuselage pieces.

    Regards
    Tom
