    SCENES IN GELDERN AND ISSUM, GERMANY, AFTER BRITISH AND US SOLDIERS HAD LINKED UP [Allocated Title]
    Object description (not currently online)
    The Reconnaissance Regiment of the 53rd (Welsh) Division moves through Geldern. Sherman tanks of the Sherwood Rangers (Nottinghamshire Yeomanry) in the captured village of Issum; British and US soldiers mingle. A surrendered German sniper is taken away. Houses with white flags outside.

    SRY - War Diary, 7th March 1945
    Plan with 158 Bde cancelled. 4/7 Dragoon Guards and ourselves were pulled out of battle. Regiment harboured in ISSUM, which provided excellent billets.

    Sqn Ldrs conference in the morning to discuss points arising out of the recent battle. Commander 8th Armd Bde attended the conference.
