I need to get a file pulled in the Canadian archives and then copied - sadly not available in the online microfilm catalogues (I have checked with the Library of Canada archive team). Does anyone know a reliable freelance researcher who can go to the archive to copy some material please? Many thanks Tim
This is the LAC page re hiring a researcher - Hiring a Freelance Researcher - Library and Archives Canada (bac-lac.gc.ca) I've used Ken Joyce numerous times, he's the first name on the second page of that list linked to above. I'm not sure whether any researchers can actually visit at the moment? I have been busy adding things to my LAC and TNA target lists and hoping it may be possible to order them at some point. Gary
Compliments of forum member, Klambie, I am in touch with a freelance researcher who does great work for a nominal fee. If interested, please send me a PM. And, due to Covid19, there is but a skeleton staff at LAC.
For occasional small jobs I am available and I don't charge anything. Reciprocal file scanning appreciated and so on but not necessary. But right now AFAIK the archives are closed to the public, and I don't think they will be able to reopen for at least 3 more weeks. They have however just restarted their online copying service.
