    Hiya all,

Just bought this photo of eBay of a Major serving with the 4th Btn KRRC. Believed to be in either Egypt or Palestine. Can anyone help with his ID or why he got the MC?

Thanks for your time and help.

    Regards

    Danny

    Hi

The Ancestry search engine for WW2 medal awards is not great, but here is what it returned for MC recipients from KRRC in Egypt.

Reverend Godfrey Barton Chaplain's attached 1 Battalion 1943-1944 MilitaryCross
Lieutenant John Harry Peter Curtis 2 Battalion 1943 MilitaryCross
    Captain John Lyon Corbett-Winder King'sRoyalRifleCorps 1943 MilitaryCross
Lieutenant Ian George Effingham Pollock 11 Battalion 1943 MilitaryCross
Lieutenant Ian George Effingham Pollock King'sRoyalRifleCorps 1942-1943 MilitaryCross
Captain Humphrey Reginald Woods 1 Battalion 1942 Bar to MilitaryCross
Lieutenant Hereward Wake 1 Battalion 1942-1943 MilitaryCross
Lieutenant Humphray Reginald Woods 1 Battalion 1940-1941 MilitaryCross

    Nothing came back for Palestine.

Search these names on TNA Discovery Search Engine and you should get more info including a view of the award.

    Hope this helps

    Gus,

Thanks for this. Looking at the ribbons and type of dress I think this might be pre WW2? If you could do the same research for ww1 that might help?

    Cheers
