Here is a subject for members to mull over. Near Vire in Normandy, a small group of us penetrated deep inside enemy territory, to survey a Viaduct for explosives..... I cannot recall all of it, for so much happened on that stunt

Later in Holland, we again took a small group inside enemy territory, to play a flaming gramophone right under the enemies nose. Laying in rushes and stinking Dutch mud..... frozen stiff.

Has any one heard of the army gramophone being taken inside the enemies area?

I would love to know how widespread this was?...........

PS the small plastic type discs were of men preparing to build a bridge. And the enemy.... within feet of us, fired a bloody Moaning Minnie just over our heads.... We all got back safely..With our flaming gramophone.
If anyone can shed light on this I would be very interested.:rolleyes::confused:
