I'm reading the Tim Saunders Pen and Fraud sorry Sword book on Varsity and he said that the OBLI memorial in Hamminkeln has moved....The book was written in 2008 and so does anybody know if it is back or if has been relocated elsewhere......Not a bad book but shame no one proof read it..must be at least 20 mentions of 'airbourne'!

The memorial was moved some time ago
it now sits outside a distribution Centre a little down from the station (where it should be)
You have to hunt around for it and it looks unloved
I asked the local legion to look in to it and they sent a letter to the mayor
They got the standard response about how important it was to them , and that they would look into it.
it should be at the station, as any visitor would go there

if you have a copy of "Go to it"
Check out the trees at the approach to the railway station
with the photo in the book.
Arnhem is close by as is Groesbeek and Reichswald cemeteries

As promised the photos of the station house at Hamminkeln that was hit by the RUR Horsa Glider and the Memorial. I've highlighted both on the Google Earth image.
