I do hope there isn't any long term problem there.
Remarkable site, and not sure there's much that even comes close on specific info.

Just in case there is, I'd encourage anyone who might be having a hosting problem with the place to maybe contact Otto.
He's attempting to save WW2 sites that sometimes suffer blips by offering a haven for them. Part of his ingrained aversion to 'losing data'. (He is a bit funny about it, and the offer is genuinely open-handed):

WWII websites getting lost into the ether is evil. I'll do what I can to preserve the info. All option are on the table, outright hosting of the websites, import of data, or whatever solution keeps the data available. I call it Safe Harbor. Please forgive the Yank spelling, I'm Canadian by birth if it makes one feel better.

Anyone have a copy of the site or have contact with the admin there?

Hopefully it's a software glitch and nothing more.

I'm a bit tied up at the moment. Could someone try and contact Derek and offer our help if he indeed needs any?

Personally, I've been trying to access this for several days:

I've temporarily forgotten the board member who runs it (despite having spoken with him by email), but it's damned good and I really want to pinch one of the big Cassino maps he has uploaded.

Have emailed him via the address on his profile info, assuming it's still a valid one.
If anyone has another email address for him , please drop him a line.

Would be a heck of a loss if it went - there is another good site on WW2 RA, which is information rich but far less user-friendly. Here's hoping.

It,s been down for over a week, thought it was my old browzer.
Will be a shame to lose it, even though it's info was'nt always correct.
Luckily we still have Nigel F's RA site.

We can pull copies of the site from the Internet Archive, but I want to be sure we make every effort to contact the site owner first.

Incidentally, shiny7.uk appears back up as of 2:50 AM Thursday, June 23, 2016 - Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)

I realise now I'd mentally merged the two into one place.

The very useful site ra39-45 doesn't seem to respond but I recently found a roundabout way to access it - which I have now forgotten. Can anyone help please.
