REME Guarding POWs in Ismalia 1946-48

Discussion in 'REME/RAOC' started by familyresearch, May 29, 2012.

  1. Hello,

I know this forum is for WW2 issues, but I'm not sure where else to look and as there is a WW2 connection I hoped that some of the knowledgeable people on here might be able to help me.

I am trying to find out more about Bruce Guy Sargent who served with the REME from 1946-48, guarding German POWs in Ismalia, Egypt. Does anyone know about this period in the REME's history, or know where I could look to find out more? I am going to order his service record but it's going to take at least 12 months, and I'd really like to find out more as soon as possible.

    Thank you for your help,
    Elissa

you should try to contact Frank Mee of Stockton on Tees as he was a REME WO1 in that area at that time - any problem PM me for his e-mail address

    Cheers
