I have a copy of my Grandfather's Service Records from 1/1/34 to 1945. It states that he was with the above unit from 24/4/34 until 14/12/34 when he was discharged. The stamp states "Discharged Para. 370? / 870?. K.R. (VIII) on 14-12-34. Confirmed. xxxxxxxxxx Capt. for O. I/c R.A. Records." Could somebody please explain what this discharge 370 or 870 was (unable to differentiate between a 3 or an 8). Also, does anybody please have any more information regarding the unit? Regards, P
Discharged under sub para VIII of earlier versions of KR in WW1 was "Having made a false answer on attestation" which might fit discharge after a few months.
Thank you Sheldrake for your response. Further reading has shown that he re-enlisted in May 1935 in to the Royal Tank Corps and it states that his father received a refund of "2/3 of Purchase Money £35:.:. - paid for discharge from R.A. £23:6:8 paid on 19.9.35.
