Just heard today that Joe passed on in Febuary......he was F Squadron and was one of the few GPs who took part in the big three -D-Day, Arnhem and the Rhine Crossing not to get a DFM...... He is also in one of the Arnhem photos - the one taken of the captured SS men with GP guards..... A real nice guy and always enjoyed talking to Joe.....he will be missed.....
S/Sgt Joe Kichener GPR Heard the sad news from Jack Bruce just last night, Joe was a tonic, always a bundle of laughs,he will be sadly missed, Joe Kitchener RIP
Took him around Wolfheze with author Cor Janse for his books "Blik Omhoog", he still had his army watch, which he worn at Arnhem, and every year that we met him, he asked us if he could tell us the correct time, a nice character
