Flt/Lt John Griffith Jenkins, 124463, RAFV, was killed on 24 April 1945 when his fighter aircraft Spitfire EN666 crashed near Corner Piece Inn, Fishguard Road, three miles North of Harverfordwest.

A search of the Western Telegraph and the County Echo was made but found no mention of the crash.

    I would appreciate any help.

    Roy,
If you don't get any help on here, (which I doubt :)), I would recommend contacting this site.

Have only come up with the following.....

    Spitfire EN666 was a P.R. Mk. XI.
It is listed as being with 8 (C)OTU, Haverfordwest at the time of the loss.

Looking at the information posted, it occurred to me that this aircraft was not associated with the final push for victory in the West.Being lost behind the lines, it had to be associated with operational training.

Having said that Haverfordwest appears to be have been a base associated with Coastal Command, No 17 Group Edinburgh, but by April 1945 was on C&M.Its satellite at nearby Templeton was still open and was used throughout for operational training.
