    Hello everyone
I am starting to have a bit of a look at the other times in my granfathers World War II, now that I have done some of the Italy parts, (Salerno, Garigliano crossing and Anzio).
He joined The Oxford & Bucks as far as I know in 1938, I dont know why, I guess as a 19 year old it could have been for the exitement or maybe it was expected that he should, I even considered it might be his plans to join early to pick what regiment he wanted.
It was The First Buckinghamshire battalian (TA), I couldn't say when he found his self in France, with the BEF, but I think it was in the early spring of 1940.
What I do know is his regiment got a lot of praise for what happened at Hazebrouch late May 1940.
When I visited his regiment last year I was helped by the regimental historian, (ret) Lt Colonel David Stanley OBE, and they produced this little memorial booklet, outlining what happened in the war, when they visited in May 2007.
Hopefully it may be of interest to some of you.
    All the best
    Adam

Great work Adam180, I hope to visit the museum myself to see if they have any information on my grandfather who served with them from at least 1944 onwards till the platoon replaced battle casualties in the 51st Hd.
