Is this just a British Hummer or an entirely different vehicle.
I know nothing about modern British Army vehicles.

No. It seems to me that this is in fact a vehicle of IVECO.

Whilst for a certain period each manufacturer has copied the Jeep (but normally insisted that he had not done so), tody, everybody is building HUMMER lookalikes. The Renault SHERPA, above IVECO but as well the Spanish (or Portueguese) URO. another example was the Toyota MEGACRUISER. The Chinsese did it as well - in the meantime they have taken over HUMMER.

But: Not everything what looks as a HUMMER is a HUMMER. Whilst the HUMMER was actually thought as a relacement of the Jeep / M151 and AM General took it serious (means they built a vehicle which takes 4 (FOUR) seats, others came to the conclusion that a vehicle of this sheere size should provide space for more persons :)

You can't help but wonder about the quality of the Russian build, The grey urban camo paint job is nifty though.

It must have been a more than sad moment for the honorable British army to face the day, they had to accept an Italian army vehicle as a replacement of the Land Rover. Nothing against the IVECO as such and ok; after the British handed over their iconic vehicle to the German BMW who forwarded it to the American FORD they had nothing better to do than to sell it to the Indian TATA.

How shall I feel, as a non-British, owning and maintaining a Land Rover, if not even the British forces rely any more on this vehicle?

    Not easy. I tell you!

Russia denies plans to buy Italian armored vehicles
An official spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry Alexei Kuznetsov has denied information, provided by some mass media that the country intends to buy a large consignment of Italian Iveco armored vehicles, according to RIA Novosti. A number of reports, referring to sources in the military-industrial complex, said Russia’s Defense Ministry was planning to buy as many as one thousand vehicles.

Russian military denies plans to buy Italian armored vehicles
The Russian Defense Ministry dismissed on Wednesday media reports that it was planning to purchase a large number of armored vehicles from Italy.
Russian and Italian media said on Tuesday that Russia was in negotiations to buy up to 1,000 IVECO M65 (LMV) Light Multirole Vehicles.
"The Defense Ministry has no plans to purchase foreign armored vehicles," ministry spokesman Col. Alexey Kuznetsov said.
The official said Russia had tested several models of foreign armored vehicles in 2009 to compare their performance and combat capabilities with domestic equivalents.
"We have sent our evaluation to Russian manufacturers," Kuznetsov said, without offering any further details.
Italian LMVs have been used in Iraq, Afghanistan and other NATO missions abroad, where they have performed admirably.
