    Hi

I'm trying to determine which city the Canadian tanks in this film (from 48:07 to 49:19) are driving through:

    Zoekresultaten bevrijding

    It's Fragment 151 van 249 - AV0119 Groningen in oorlogstijd 1940-1945
    by J.W. van Dam,1940-1945

The film says Groningen, but I'm not sure. Anyone know?

    Here are some stills:

There are two store fronts which are visible as the camera follows the tanks to the left

First there is a BAKKERIJ AUTOMATIEK

And further to the left is an ALBINO store.

My Dutch isn't very good, but my searches show Albino was a store chain located primarily in the Northern Netherlands provinces, and was bought out in the late 1940s.

    Any ideas?

If it’s Groningen, Joel Stoppels will know. He has a Facebook page and website. Joel Stoppels battlefield tours. Look him up and ask is my advice.

    Peter,

If you have no joy here, why not try the local museum and or the Liberation Day Festival. Scanning images on Google there is nothing similar, but the locals would know where they were taken. We do have some Dutch members, hopefully they can help.
