Does anybody know if a series two of the French special forces (dark hearts) is to be released?

    Now on YouTube.

I'm old now. Lip quiverige becoming more of a thing.

The words of Jay De L'Eau particularly have me each time now. Having to go down the line; choosing to go back up the line. Grit. Courage. Found within.

    Always remember, never forget,

    Jim.

I watched "The Eagle Has Landed" again last night. I haven't seen it in about 30 years or more and I thoroughly enjoyed it as if it was the first time around. I read a bit about it earlier today. That's what I do with movies that I really like these days.

Spoilers (as if anyone here hasn't seen it yet, but you never know)

The railyard scene where Oberst Steiner rescues the fleeing Jewish girl was filmed in Finland. The Alderney Island scenes were filmed in Cornwall, and Berkshire substituted for Norfolk County.

The movie came out in 1977, shortly before I enlisted in the Army. Since I was going airborne, the parachute scenes were particularly interesting for me. They made the water landings seem easy. I managed to make one water landing in jump school, and it was easy enough. Kinda scary going in though. Right before I hit the water I made all the preparations for a water landing. Since I was still in jump school and this was my 3rd jump I believe, the training was incredibly fresh in my mind. What really helped immensely was the the water was only about a foot deep where I landed much to my surprise. I always remember that landing when I see that part of the movie.

Mildly entertaining for the WWII buff, but only at first. I couldn't make it through it.

OSS in Burma deserved better than half the flick of love scenes...

To tell the truth, and a tv series, I am watching Band of Brothers on Netflix for about the third time. And last.

Surprisingly good. I was only expecting to watch the first couple of minutes of it but it was excellent.

Band of Brothers, which I knew was coming out well before it was made public, as I have a neighbour who auditioned for a part in it.

"Combat!" episode that came highly rated on the fan website. Kirbly is left in charge of the squad.

It's based on a pretty good novel by an author who was actually there.
