I'm currently trying to assist my best friend in deciphering the war service record of his maternal grandfather. Much of it has so far been fairly straightforward, but there are a couple of things which my Google-fu seems to be putting up a solid defence! One such item is the title of this thread. I have tried to find out what Course D15 at the Eastern Command Weapon Training School would have entailed, and also (purely out of curiosity) where this particular School would have been. I would be very grateful if someone were able to guide me in this. Thanks in advance, Roger
I discovered today what Course D15 involved. It was training on small arms, namely rifle, LMG, pistol, Thompson sub machine gun, grenades, bayonet, 2" mortar and AT rifle. Turned out that my friend actually had the certificate awarded to his grandfather for the course!
