D Moore has a photograph of the 12ht. Yorkshire . You don't happen to have a name list of members in photo?

    Unfortunately no I don't
    Just Lieutenant colonel Johnny Johnson

Someone pointed out that was Johnson who was killed leading the attack on Breville on the 12th june

My father always said the bravest man he had ever seen was a (his words) blue blood officer at Breville who with mortars dropping all over and machine gun fire in front marched the guys forward encouraging all to battle to the end I now know after research this was Major general Gale

Hello all! What a find this page is! My Grandfather, Alfred Henry Booth was part of 5th parachute brigade on d-day. As a staunch Yorkshireman, I believe he will have been 12th Yorkshire para btn but I am so far unable to confirm this. Would anyone have access to any records that could confirm this? I remember him talking about gliders rather than parachuting in.
