That's him but I'm after his casualty records from the war have his service record but on it it has him on x (2) list and then a fair bit later on y list and I would like to find out if there are records which have how he was injured as I have such records for another relative

If you know when he received his injuries and you know which regiment he was with and where then usually looking at the War Diary for that Regiment on that date will tell what actions where going on at that time. Thats why his service records help to pinpoint him in time and geography.

Could you please post the name of the Regiment and/or unit with which he served and service number?

He was in1st battalion parachute regiment. Service number 6153104.
I have looked at the regiments war diary in the national archives but there's almost nothing from when they were in North Africa with regards to casualties

Are you certain he was a battle casualty?

Well my dad thinks he was injured in a parachute training incident. But when I got his service number I was told there was a note saying he was injured in North Africa. And the date for the x list posting puts them in operation torch at the time. Plus a news paper clipping about him encountering a tank leads me to believe he was in action when originally injured

Perhaps the news clipping referred to his previous service with The East Surrey Regiment ?

no the clipping was later. He was only in the east Surrey regiment for a very short time and he only has campaign medals for North Africa and Italy. Which was while he was in 1st battalion parachute regiment

You have previously stated that he was posted to X List on 7/10./1943 at which time 1 Para were serving in Italy

A lot of this would be sorted out if the service records are available - they will give some sense of order in chronological and unit terms

I have his service records. It's just I want to find any casualty records that may have him and what wound he had

Edward - can I respectfully request that you scan and post his service record, most of the comments above are being based on guesswork, instead of fact.

The answers to your questions, as mentioned earlier may well lie in the War Diaries, BUT until we know which one we are guessing
