holly shit ross yeah thats the one can i start converstion with u
so crash site is 3miles east of churchstanton or culmhead now call me stupid but if u go on OS MAPPING and u do from culmhead to merry harriers pub where it crashed or beyond no where near 3miles its more 1 1/2 miles so all itrs saying its crashed 3miles east in a filed beyond merry harriers pub
Form 1180 is just a summary card for various other documents.
Recently Kropiwnicki's casualty file was released to the public domain
Sergeant E Kropiwnicki (Polish): killed; aircraft accident near Church Stanton.... | The National Archives
If you look on the Form 1180 you will see that initially no C of I was done but that later one was done which changed the cause from F2 to F9. Try the RAFAHB for transcript details from A28... file ref given once you have looked at the casualty file.
County coroner report usually also give better place of death than F1180.
can i send u inbox please
so has anyone figured the maths out yet 3miles from church stanton is not what it says on reasech documents
then i guess it a mystery coz reaserch documents say it crashed in a field beyond merry harriers pub right now ive gone on os mapping and done point to point from runway to pub = 1.257miles so 3miles ??????
Perhaps its a country mile
call me thick how do u get a country mile ive attached a screen shot of what i took on os mapping see what u think
You'd have better success if you used the right Merry Harriers...... that is 3 miles from the airfield
I’m sorry don’t know what u mean right merry harriers have I been looking in the wrong place
You want all the credit for finding it, so you'll have to do the work in order to earn it.
I think your straight runs are approx 12.8 furlongs
ok thanks for the last advice but ivr tried both merry hariers pub in near location and still dont add up to 3miles help
as pointed out by an esteemed forum member
are you imperial or metric
as pointed out by an esteemed forum member have a look again at your map
its ok i leave it i figure it out all i know the map ive got says its 2.59km ive converted that into miles not even 3miles thanks anyway
thanks to all people on this page im so stupid ive just googled a flight meaure and even tou im a few km out ive found it thanks for all advise
Stuart, there are some really good people on the forum and several have replied on your post.
Some of these have helped me with my own projects, mostly aviation related.
My advice is to trust people a little bit more and you will find it more rewarding on here and generally. Sometimes things can go onto PM's if you want to keep things less public though.
CL1, Tricky Dicky, Kevin Battle - brilliant people to deal with.
ATB and good luck with it.
