Hi All I come with cap in hand looking for donations. As some of you know we had the most amazing time last month when my five year old son Jacob met the Red Arrows just before their display at RIAT making one of his dreams come true. As a family we though it only right and proper that we give a little something back and decided to raise some cash for the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund. Deciding what a five year old can achieve but on the same hand be quite challenging wasn't easy but we've decided to let Jacob attempt the summit of Pen Y Ghent, one of Yorkshire highest peaks in his RAF Flying suit. All I ask for is a small donation to help spur him on (and me) and help the RAFBF support those that protect the skies that we live under. If you wish you can follow the build up and his progress via his Twitter account @Jacob_The_Pilot Many thanks in advance to any donations gratefully received and any good luck messages posted on here I'll show him. Just click on the 'Read Jacob's Story' link below. Read Jacob's story
Donated & shared. Good luck Jacob, I am sure Dad will carry you if you get tired, just as my Dad carried my brother when he did a walk for charity.
Donated. Good luck Jacob. Just take it one step at a time and you’ll make it to the top before you know it!
Thank you all so much. You can follow his progress on twitter (if you have it). He @Jacob_The_Pilot and I know he'd love to have you along for the ride.
Even made it on the BBC News website for England, front page no less Boy, 5, 'blown away' by Red Arrows salute
Ah but then you have the BBCs journalist accuracy in the report "Jacob Newson, from Leeds" "Mr Newsom, an emergency medical technician for the Yorkshire Ambulance" later "Mr Newson said his son's charity walk " Specasavers time - there are other high street shops of various names that do very similar things TD
