    The following is a list of RAF airmen with the name YOUNG who fought in the Battle of Britain.


    Sgt. Ronald Lewis Young 758009 - 601 Squadron. + 28 March 1942

    P/O. Cecil Reginald Young 42372 - 615, 607, 46 Squadrons. + 5 December 1940

    P/O. James Harold Young 42175 - 234 Squadron.

    P/O. James Hugh Roumieu Young 42670 - 74 Squadron. + 28 July 1940

    F/O. John Reginald Cass Young 70766 - 249 Squadron.

    F/L. John Stewart Young 39362 - 234 Squadron.

    P/O. Michael Hugh Young 42040 - 264 Squadron.

    Sgt. Randolph Charles Young 49995 - 23 Squadron.

    Sgt. Robert Bett Mirk Young NZ40197 - 264 Squadron. + 8 October 1940



    To be eligible to wear the Battle of Britain clasp the recipient would have to have flown at least one authorised operational sortie with an eligible unit of RAF Fighter Command during the period from 10 July to 31 October 1940.

    I don't know if any one else has mentioned this but when I went to the East Cemetery in Amsterdam there were several 'Unknown' graves there.
