Hi, I hope Cameron will read this message.

His Grandfather (1st Bn. Scots Guards) was captured, along with another guardsman, in Monte Catarelto battle.

I'm Italian and I'm interested on this battle. I have opened a new topic under the title "Searching for service n. 2700360, 1st Bn. Scots Guards, WWII, Italy". 2700360 is a Guardsman service number engraved on a mess knife lost during the Catarelto battle.

I'd like to send Cameron a message because his Grandfather was one of nine prisoners (according to Erskine's book) taken by the Germans during the battle.

Do you think is possible to know the name of the other seven (apart of Sgt Walker J.S.)?

    Thank you.

    Regards,

    Mauro

Hello, not sure if this will help, I note your inquiry is now some years old. I am Admin for Scots Guards Pictorial II on Facebook, as you are a relation to a Scots Guardsman you are more than welcome to join us, there maybe someone there that can help. We are also always on the lookout for photo’s to add to our collection. Cheers.
