Hello Gentlemen, I've been conducting some research into a Prisoner of War and came across a true web of intrigue - Collaboration, British Free Corps, Propaganda Broadcasting etc etc - Affidavits from numerous people which were then forwarded to Mi5. It's truly fascinating stuff with scope for lengthy research opportunities. I found the information contained within the Liberated POW Questionnaires for a group of South African Prisoners, which are now in the public domain. After a thorough internet search, I can find no previous mention of these events having seen the light of day since the Second World War. As these documents are now available to the public, I am OK to post them here right? Cheers Emps
I’d expect you are free to post them as you say you have found them “freely” available elsewhere on the internet. I would just acknowledge any “copyright” held by the source site. Steve
The following files are contained within the Liberated POW Questionnaires. On the 12th May 1945, a South African Gunner, temporarily based in Brighton, made a sworn Affidavit as follows:- On the 14th May 1945, Pte Breytenbach also made a sworn Affidavit at Brighton:- Pte Van Dyk was tracked down in Voortrekkerhoogt and interrogated on the 14th November 1945:- Cheers Emps
I'll let everyone digest this before I move into a discussion - I have my own ideas about whats going on here........
Have a look at the list in the post here (I think you may find it interesting) 6857914 Rifleman Louis John VAN HEERDEN, King's Royal Rifle Corps & LRDG: POW - BFC? Death? Kind regards, always, Jim.
