    Hi All,
Not sure if this is already available here.
I’ve got a list of all the prisoners of war in Germany and the German occupied territories from the National Archives. I’ve been trying to post it on here but it’s too big (196mb) Is there a way to do this?

    Hi,

Just stick it on a server and link to it (public access). If there are a lot separate files and folders you may have to put it all in a zip container. I use Icedrive for multiple PDFs which allows 10 GBs free. You have to create an account, get the app, etc.

But there are lots of different options out there for servers. Research "servers" I guess.

    Regards ...

Works for me too. Thanks for sharing.

It’s NA reference is WO 392/1.

I stand to be corrected but I don’t think it was the last German POW list that was circulated.

There is another one published in April 1945 (WO 392/11)

There are some important differences, as men captured in the summer of '44 may well not appear in the September '44 Register (WO 392/1)

Note that WO 392/11 is the list of British Army POWs in Germany and German Occupied Countries. There are other lists in the 392 Series which cover Canadians, Australians, New Zealanders, Indians, South Africans etc. There are also lists for Air Forces, Merchant Navy etc.
392 also has files listing POWs of the Italians and Japanese.
The WO 392 files are available on Fold3, they may be available elsewhere but I use Fold3.

They are also available on findmypast but I usually get to them through the National Archives link to fmp.
