    Good morning,

I was wondering if anyone has a copy of the missing personnel file for the Seaforth Highlanders? I’m researching CPL 2816757 C Warren 2/Seaforths and was wondering if he gets a mention?

    Thanks

Conor - Which Theatre/year of capture?

For the record, these are all WO 361 Series files for Seaforth Highlanders, found via a cursory search. Only one of which gives Battalion level, unsurprisingly that's 2nd Bn / BEF.

It’s the BEF 1940 file I’m after as this is when my man was captured. Hoping maybe his first name is mentioned to assist research.

The date in the file is generally the date of correspondence not necessarily the dates they went missing.

For the BEF it is the first one (date starts January 1941) but the focus is usually on personnel who are missing. As soon as they are accounted for (PoW, KIA etc) then they are no longer mentioned.

If your man was still missing in Jan 1941, he might be mentioned. If he was confirmed as a PoW by then, probably not (unless they correspond with him about other missing men).

Thanks for replying Temujin. I'm signed up to Ancestry/FMP so have these documents, but appreciate the time and the effort you took to post them.

Sorry in the delayed reply. Constantly getting side tracked from research lol
