Have you ever considered that our paths might actually have crossed in Northern Italy, you as a young Italian boy and me as a passing British soldier ?

I seem to remember giving a young Italian boy a loan of several hundred pounds and saying to him
"One day, perhaps not until 2011, you can return this loan to me with interest 1"

    Auguri !

And just in case any newcomers to the forum wonder what the hell I am talking about just have a look at this:

My reference to de Chardin was to point out the futility of his thinking in that God had wasted His time to set aside a very large area to be known as Hell -if he wasn't contemplating filling it with lost souls ....who reject Him....most realise that the Piltdown saga was a hoax and as a consequence - his Order sent him off to China to set his thinking straight - they failed in this as he went on to "discover" Peking man - followed by Java man when he travelled to that area.....now..as you are well aware... the Jesuits had the reputation of being the intelligentia of the Church....but in most things ..there is always one !

Main point being that here is a highly intelligent and well educated man - getting it all wrong....I wonder how many others there are
    Cheers

Couldn't agree with you more that this planet is just about as perfect as we can see from our humble situation - but we do keep on trying to bugger it up with our stupidity...
    Love to Shiela

As a kid of thirteen or so, I remember climbing a fence near a quarry. It was late at night. Visibilty was zero. Once over the fence...I absolutely froze. I took a quick glance forward...and realized that had I gone 2 more steps, I would have fallen to a rather early expiration date. Maybe the "third man factor" saved me from the golden light.

Cheers from a land where no sane individual will vote for the party led by Taliban Jack.

    Randy,
Don't be so hard on Jack. Complete idiots and mental defectives need to vote too.
