TETLEY'S BITTER , when someone's paying ...I brew my own wine , have done for years ,
mostly white wine ,'' pinio griego '' a favourite ..a wine kit costs £45 pounds but makes
5 gallon , and takes about 4 weeks to be drinkable ,but the longer you leave it the better
it is of course ..with the cost of booze today ,,brewing your own is the way to go ,,
and its very easy and simple to do ,,,

What comes to mind is a quote attributed to the American Benjamin Franklin who said..."Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."

    Merry Christmas!

From the towns all Inns have been driven: from the villages most.... Change your hearts or you will lose your Inns and you will deserve to have lost them. But when you have lost your Inns drown your empty selves, for you will have lost the last of England.

Is the outside temperature scorching hot ?

Then the answer is an ice-cold lager

Is the temperature freezing cold ?

A generous tot of mature scotch

Large exercise in BAOR mid 70s - warnings about touching anything with bare hands, it was damned cold! The story has it that the adjutant mentioned to the sergeant major that the rum ration was still on the 'books' for the Army and held in store! The sergeant major was reported to have said, yes sir, but I own the books.

    Soldiers have a care!

Here sleeps in peace a Hampshire Grenadier
Who caught his death by drinking cold small beer
Soldiers be ware From his untimely fall
And when ye're are hot drink strong
    or none at all.

I bought a six of these tonight. Nice and bitter, but the head was a tad flat.
Good flavor and thick enough to stand a spoon in it.

I was offered absinthe tonight, which I accepted.

To say it was awful would be an understatement, straight or mixed with the appropriate dilutions.

I can handle a single beer on a hot day and maybe a glass of wine with dinner, but when push comes to shove, I'll grab my Edradour Scotch or my Irish Redbreast.

Recently discovered a large slug of au naturel decent vodka followed immediately by a slurp of good Apple juice is a fine way to shoot.
Takes away residual harshness of the shot without disrupting that 'mmmm, alcohol' sensation.
It's how many Poles do it... apparently.
